My name is Giovanna Moraga Clayton and I am running for one of the 6 director seats on our AFM Local 47 board. As a cellist, I’ve had the immense pleasure of working with many of you over the last 25 years. Whether it be in orchestral settings, chamber music soirees, arena shows, film sets or scoring stages, we’ve been fortunate to often work under union contracts. Contracts that were negotiated by teams of colleagues who have given their time to ensure our future as union members. I am running for office because we need young, diverse and forward thinking representation in our leadership. My hope is to inspire action and foster unity within our community, while building a stronger union. One where we support our membership and work together to build long lasting relationships with our employers and our sister unions. We are facing uncertain times. In order to create change there must be action. No one can do it alone and it is for that reason that I am asking not only for your vote, but also for your voice and your support.
