Trustee, Delegate to the AFM Convention
My name is Scott Mayo and I’m running to become a Trustee for Local 47 as a part of Musicians47United. I am particularly passionate about connecting with our oncoming and new professional musicians to share with them all the advantages of union membership.
I’ve been a working woodwind player and AFM member for 37 years. I have performed in a wide range of environments from records and films, local shows and global tours, with new artists and legacy artists and on a variety of award shows and television performances. I’ve hesitated becoming more involved with the Union as I felt they were simply out of touch with musicians like me. But I also realized that unless musicians like me get more involved, nothing will ever change. So I’m throwing my hat in as a proud member of Musicians47United, a diverse and engaged group of musicians like me and you who are excited to work on the challenges which are before us while moving toward the opportunities which await us.
